History of the Bahá'í Faith in Pakistan

In response to Baha’u’llah’s call for the construction of a Divine World Civilization, the Bahá'í Faith grasped its roots into Pakistan in the early 19th century, with Saeed-i-Hindi from Multan, being the first to follow.

Like the rest of the world, the Bahá'ís of Pakistan, while working for peace and harmony, initiated their efforts in establishing a better society in their surroundings. From early on, the Bahá'ís of Pakistan have dedicated their efforts to the prosperity and empowerment of the citizens of the country. In late 1970s, the Baha’is of Pakistan expanded their services in the educational sector by establishing a Montessori School in Karachi, today known as “New Day Secondary School”.

The Bahá'ís of Pakistan, in the passing years, have continually contributed to their society by collaborating with Government and Non-Government Organizations, along with members of all religions and communities in conducting literacy programs for rural areas, free medical camps and tree plantations, discourses with dignitaries and leaders of thought, promoting interaction amongst the youth of all communities and by actively participating in dialogues on religious coexistence. All over Pakistan, Bahá'ís are embracing the diversity of the entire population and are striving for a better future society by raising the capacity of community building amongst the masses.

Responding to the innermost longing of every heart to commune with the Al-Mighty, Individuals are carrying out acts of collective worship, uniting with others in prayers, and shaping a pattern of life distinguished for its devotional character.
