Bahá'u'lláh and His Covenant

God loves humanity and has promised never to leave man alone and without Guidance; therefore, to show us His Love, God sends His Manifestations unto mankind to make His Will and Purpose known to us.

The Bahá'í Faith began with the mission entrusted by God to two Divine Messengers - the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh. In His Will and Testament, Bahá'u'lláh left explicit instructions on the continuity of guidance, after His ascension. This lineage, known as the Covenant, carries forth from Bahá'u'lláh to His eldest son ‘Abdu’l-Bahá , and then from ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to His grandson, Shoghi Effendi, and the Universal House of Justice, ordained by Bahá’u’lláh. A Bahá’í accepts the Divine Authority of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh and of these appointed successors.

He was indeed a Gate to the knowledge of God and to a New Era in human existence. He told the people that they were witnessing the dawn of a new age, the dawn of the promised day of God. He called upon them to purify their hearts from earthly vanities so that they could recognize Him Whom God would soon manifest.
