The Bahá'í Community of Pakistan consists of people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. The element that unites them is their faith in Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, as well as their desire to work for the betterment of the world and commitment to learn how to contribute towards a peaceful and prospering universal civilization as envisioned by the Founder of the Faith.
The Bahá’í Faith was brought to this land by a young religious scholar, Sa`íd Hindí, of Multan. He was one of the first 18 people who recognized The Báb, the Forerunner of the Bahá’í Faith. He came to his native place Multan in 1847 and was thus the first soul from this land to embrace the new Cause. In 1872 Bahá’u’lláh Himself commissioned Haji Suleman Khan, to visit and teach in the sub-continent. By the time new country Pakistan was born in 1947, there were Bahá’í communities in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Quetta and some other isolated centers. First National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Pakistan was elected in 1957.

Bahá’ís believes that the vital need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the nature and purpose of life and of the future of society. Such a vision unfolds in the Scripture of Baha’u’llah for all levels and facets of life in a new civilization. Therefore, to contribute towards an everlasting civilization, Bahá’ís in Pakistan are learning along with their neighbors, friends, colleagues and relatives through an educational program at the grassroot for children, junior youth, youth and adults.
